Vanity Numbers: Swisscom spells out telephone numbers

Vanity is telephony´s equivalent of the Internet domain name. Swisscom is introducing US-style Vanity Numbers to the Swiss market. What´s special about these numbers is that letters are used after the access numbers - whole words such as 0800 FLEUROP, 0800 PIZZAS, 0848 TICKET. The Vanity numbers are easy to remember. Once seen never forgotten. An ideal way for mail-order companies, taxi firms and other types of businesses to help customers remember their numbers. The numbers are dialled in the conventional way using the telephone keypad.
